From the recording Live at Mr. Henry's
The Crawdad Song was first heard by Lyle and Doris Mayfield, but Doc Watson and Fiddlin' Fred Price had the most well known version of this tune. We don't question Donnie's explanation of the lyrics, although Rob Waller's playful banjo fills and "clicks" make it fun listening, and Roger's "jews' Harp" or "Jaw Harp" only add to the laughs! Listen for Rogers' priceless "Pizzicato Jews Harp" remark!
